Q .Can I participate in an internship right after the IDC, what is the price for an internship?

A. YES, you can participate in an internship right after the IDC. Because you got graduated at Buddy Dive Academy your internship is for free

Q. What are the benefits that an internship will offer me?

A. You will assist our instructors with different levels of courses, and learn all the important tips and details about HOW to teach these courses beside all the activities and logistics in one of the best dive shops in the world.

Q. Do I have time during the Instructor Development Course to do some dives?

A. During the IDC you have to dive on the house reef numerous times, there will be an adventure dive workshop at the wreck of Hilma Hooker, after the workshop we will dive the wreck for pleasure.

Q. Can I do my presentations during the Instructor Examination in my mother language?

A. YES if you mother language is: Dutch, German, Italian, Spanish, English, French, or Portuguese, our staff will simultaneously translate your presentation to the evaluator.

Q. If I have some needs during the learning process in the IDC, can I get some help?

A. YES, the Course Director or the IDC Staff Instructor will assist you with all your needs, for us it is routine to stay after our classes to make sure you are 100% comfortable with all the information. That is why we can guaranty your success in the Instructor Examination.

Q. In case I need to purchase some PADI material or diving gear, can I do it at Buddy Dive?

A. YES, we have all the PADI material in stock that you require for your learning process, no matter at which level, and a retail shop with a large selection of diving gear.

Employment and Working
During your IDC training here at the Buddy Dive Academy, you will have the opportunity to discuss your diving goals with your PADI Course Director. We would like to know how you imagine your scuba career 5 years from now and how you would like to get there. Also we would like to know what you dream of for your future travel- and work destinations.

Together we will take a look at possible positions that would be suitable for you. The Buddy Dive Academy will try and match you with our world wide network, the PADI job listings, and of course our Dive Center, which sometimes has open positions right here at our Buddy Dive locations on Bonaire and Galapagos.

Just to be clear, we don’t “get you a job”! You will have to earn it with your own credentials and skills, which you developed during your IDC. When you graduate from the Buddy Dive Academy, our contacts know you are well qualified, and have the potential to become a well rounded instructor. They won’t “give” you a job just because they are our contact; they will hire you because they know you have the quality and expertise they are looking for.
